Hello world!

My name is Pickles and I’m in a pickle…

My previous owners dumped me out on the mean streets to fend for myself. I was hit by a car on August 31, 2011. I was picked up by animal control. They rushed me to the vet due to my severe injuries. I had nasty wounds, one of my hind legs was in really rough shape and my pelvis was broken.

I went back and forth between the vet and shelter. After one month I was finally well enough to go into a foster home to recover.

In early November I went back to the vet for my follow-up vet visit. Good news: My pelvis healed nicely. My leg healed nicely. The bad news: I need femoral head surgery on both sides.

Luckily Bully Buddies Rescue in Vancouver, BC stepped up and took me under their wings so I can get the surgeries and care I need.

My foster parents helped me to set up this page so we can keep everyone up to date on my progress.

They are also trying to raise the money to cover my vet bills, medication, hydrotherapy and everything else I might need (~$3000). If you would like to make a donation towards my care, please click the “Donations” link on top of the page for more information. Thank you so much!

What else can I tell you about me? I’m a cute girl (they call me “Thecutestpuppyever!”). I’m a Pit Bull. I was born somewhere around early/mid July 2011. Despite everything, I’m a very happy, goofy puppy. I’m a wiggly butt. I’m kissy. I love people of all ages, I love dogs, I love cats, I love bunnies. I work hard to become a breed ambassadog! I don’t like kibble. Blech! I love my raw food though! I’m scared of cars (can you blame me!?!). I like to party hard, especially at night when my foster family tries to sleep. My pen is now called “The Party Den”. I love to shred toys, I could do that all day long. Please send toys, lots of toys! And yes, my ears are ridiculous but oh so charming!
