Went to hydrotherapy again today at Aqua Paws, just like every Thursday.

I might not look all that happy in the pictures, but let me assure you, I’m totally stoked about going to hydrotherapy and this is my “relaxed” face. The warm water, the massage… It’s just wonderful!

When we got within 1/2 block of hydrotherapy, I started to pull like a freight train. We had to wait in the parking lot for the other dog to come out first and I kept pulling to try and go in. When Jacqueline finally opened the gate to the yard and the dog came out, my foster mom dropped the leash and I just ran. I ran right past Jacqueline and Brenda, I ran straight to the pool and was doing a happy dance while I was waiting for everybody to finally come in to stop laughing. Apparently they all liked my entrance and said it was a great sign. I can’t believe that I used to put my breaks on and didn’t want to go just a few weeks ago.

I had another lovely session and I feel great!

After the session in the water, I always get cookies and snuggles from my therapists!

My leg seems ok too so I started to go for longer walks again.

He is being fostered 2 houses over and I met him the other day. I love him! He is a big boy but he was so gentle with me! He let me pounce on him and then did lovely play bows.

He is looking for a forever home!

After some rest, my leg seems to be ok! My foster parents are still making me take it easy for a little while just to make sure.

You guys were right – My foster parents went up to Hastings today and they did bring me treats home!!!

They made me work for them though.

“Leave it” is hard. Especially if it’s for a dehydrated duck foot.

I also went to hydrotherapy again. We took it a bit easy there too… Lots of massage and floating. It was lovely. So lovely that it made me soooooooooooooo snoozy and relaxed. I almost fell asleep.

So sleepy!

As I said before – There is a new supermodel in town and her name is PICKLES!

Not only am I stunning, I’m also a hard worker. The next shot shows me in mid air. I was bouncing up and down like this throughout most of the shoot without complaining once!

Unfortunately it’s not all fun and games. I hurt myself Sunday morning. I was walking with my foster mom. One second I was fine, next second I wasn’t using one of my hind legs. It’s the one where I already had surgery back in November. My foster mom immediately got in touch with Bully Buddies as they have more experience.

They discussed that I should take it a bit easy and take some medication. Another Bully Buddies dog who had the same surgery 2 years ago, apparently sometimes stopped using his leg in the first 6 months after surgery.

After 30 minutes in the XPen, I was using the leg again no problem and when Shelagh from HugABull came for a visit, I was jumping up and down the second I smelled cheese. Mmmh cheese!

Anyway, plan is to take it easy for a few days, no trips up to Hastings Street to get cookies. *sniff* No cookies! My foster mom will monitor me closely and if there’s any more signs of trouble, I’m going to go and see the doctor again. Please send some good thoughts my way!

Today I walked up to busy Hastings Street. It doesn’t sound like much to you, but for a puppy like myself who was hit by a car, a big, busy road like that, is a very scary place. My foster parents and I have been working hard over the last few months to get me used to cars/traffic/noises. I used to be like a little bronco at the end of the leash, trying everything to get away because I was so scared. If I didn’t try to get away, then I’d freeze and shake. Physically it was also a bit much for me until now. It’s a 2.5 km round trip and it’s uphill too.

Anyway, my foster parents figured I was ready for Hastings Street today. A new pet store called Long Live Cats and Dogs had its grand opening today and so they decided they could sweeten the deal for me – Associate Hastings Street with a pet store full of yummy treats.

It worked. Yup. I can be bribed with cookies. Even when it’s pouring outside and I have to walk along a big, busy street during rush hour.

I got dehydrated tripe treats, Yappetizers, Wild Bites and a little bully stick. YUMMY!

I did really well! I did get a little scared and started to shake when we were waiting for my foster dad while he was doing the groceries, so my foster mom walked me to a side street where it was quieter to make sure I wouldn’t get too overwhelmed & start to panic. I immediately stopped shaking and had no problem going back to Hastings and walk home from there.

So now the plan is that we walk up there every day to completely desensitize me. Going to the pet store every day for cookies? I’M IN!!!

First it’s time to go to bed though… My foster mom caught me do this silly little yawn just a little while ago:

My foster parents took deep breaths and then said something like “You’re lucky you’re so cute!”.

Not sure what all the big fuss was about. I just sat on the bed.

“Pieces of wood”, “chew marks” you say? Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! Now I get it, you’re talking about my latest art project I started using my foster parents bed frame!

“Bad dog!” – Where? I don’t see no bad dog!

So they told me I was in the doghouse. I’m back locked up in the XPen when they can’t watch me. I was really good in the last few weeks, you see. They even left me alone loose in the house for up to an hour and I just slept or played with my toys.

I tried to explain to them that my art is very valuable! They suggested I should post here and ask if anybody would like to buy my art so I can buy my foster parents a new bedframe. Any takers?

Unfortunately I ended up making a mistake and decided to stick my head through the hole I created.

Yup, that’s when I learned all about “P-R-E-D-I-C-A-M-E-N-T”

Embarrassing.

Luckily I have super powers and got to work…. I got it off myself!

After I got it off, I decided that it actually was pretty fun and so I did it again:

The on/off and learning about new words was exhausting so the frisbee and I ended up curling up for a nice nap

West Paw is recycling their toys so my mom has a box where she puts all of my little artwork in to ship it back.

It’s a wide collar and matching leash from RC Pets. My foster mom won it in a contest they had and was donating it to Bully Buddies. It was going to go to another Bully Buddies dog since Kerry and John from Wild At Heart had gotten me the lovely Love Bug collar. Unfortunately my collar broke (this time I really had nothing to do with it!) and so I got this new set! Lucky me! Don’t I look beautiful!?!

I just got back from hydrotherapy again. Usually the massage is my favorite part but today I just wanted to swim! I worked really, really hard! I am enjoying it! I’m building muscle and getting more stamina. Both of my therapists and my foster parents were really impressed!

I got my nails clipped again today. I don’t mind it at all. It clicks and then I get a cookie without having to do anything. What’s not to like about that?

Apparently some of Charlie’s toys disappeared out of his toy box. When they couldn’t find them, they blamed me! I had nothing to do with their disappearance, I swear!
